Frequently Asked Questions About CEF Metal Fabrication

Questions we hear from engineers and procurement managers evaluating CEF for the first time.

CEF is best suited for mid-to-large structural weldments and assemblies where complexity, tight tolerances, or compressed timelines make execution challenging. If your part is large, involves multiple processes, or requires documented quality control, CEF is built for that work.

We accept DXF, DWG, PDF, SolidWorks, STEP, and IGES files. Preliminary sketches and supporting specifications are also useful when a production drawing is not yet available.

Lead time depends on material availability, project complexity, required processes, quantity, and current shop loading. Send us the drawing and your target date, and we will evaluate timing as part of the quote.

We work with structural steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and a range of specialty alloys. If you’re unsure whether we process your material, send us the spec and we’ll tell you directly.

Both. CEF can handle cutting, forming, welding, CNC machining, and full assembly in-house. Finishing services including sandblasting, painting, powder coating, plating, and galvanizing can also be included as part of the completed program.
