Why CEF

Built for jobs that require more than standard execution

Most fab shops can handle straightforward work. Send us something with tight distortion requirements, a compressed timeline, or a weld sequence that actually has to be planned — that’s where we’re built differently.

The fixturing, the pre-heat, the in-process checks — none of that happens by accident. It’s how we’ve run jobs since 1990, and it’s why customers keep coming back with their harder programs.

  • Mid-to-large weldments requiring process control, not just equipment
  • Responsive when your program changes or timelines compress
  • ISO 9001:2015 quality system — documented through every operation
  • One-source delivery: cutting through assembly under one roof
  • 65,000 sq ft Milwaukee facility — accessible from I-43 and US-45
  • In business since 1990 — stable, experienced team
  • Response within one business day on drawings submitted

Common Questions

Frequently Asked About CEF Metal Fabrication

Questions we hear from engineers and procurement managers evaluating CEF for the first time.

CEF is best suited for mid-to-large structural weldments and assemblies where complexity, tight tolerances, or compressed timelines make execution challenging. If your part is large, involves multiple processes, or requires documented quality control, CEF is built for that work.

We accept DXF, DWG, PDF, SolidWorks, STEP, and IGES files. If you have a sketch, napkin drawing, or just a description of what you need, send that too — we’ll work with what you have and ask the right questions to get to a quote.

Lead time depends on part complexity, material availability, and current shop loading. For most structural weldments, typical lead time runs 3–6 weeks from approved drawings. We’ll give you a straight answer on timeline when you submit your drawing — no vague estimates.

We work with structural steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and a range of specialty alloys. If you’re unsure whether we process your material, send us the spec and we’ll tell you directly.

Both. CEF operates as a one-source fabricator — we can take a project from raw material through cutting, forming, welding, CNC machining, and assembly to produce a complete finished product. That reduces your vendor count and coordination overhead.

CEF is located at 6030 North 60th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53218 — accessible from I-43 and US-45. We primarily serve Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois but work with customers throughout the United States.
